The idea of “Magician for Hire” started long , long ago as “Phineus 2036”.
I had the idea as far back as 2005. Cole has evolved many times, in look, name and character since then. As has the story.
I really like the curly haired version, and she may be a future, older version of Cole.
So, I’ve had a mirror over at Drunk Duck since 2006, left with the Platinum Studios/Wevolt debacle back in the early ’10s andgot set back up, there a couple years back, but have largely ignored it. but, no more!
DD has a great community, great comics and a nice interface, so I’ve decided to be way more engaged over there, going forward. That said, I spent a lot of time last week tweaking my comics there, making them look awesome, uploading pages and setting up new comics over there, so I didn’t get a lot of time to draw. No Magician for Hire page, today.
I should have a new page up later this week, so look out for it!

I am definitely an Artist who writes! I always jump at anyone who wants to write me a script!
Writing wears me out!

So, tonight at work I just finished pencilling and inking two pages, and pencilled the last page of “The Radon Farting Bastard Aliens from Hell”. Just gotta ink thelast and do up the cover and blammo! Done!
Next back to The Sara: One Shot. I hope to get the first half(up to page 20) done by years end.
If I do, that’s 73 pages this year! That’s a page and a half a week. That’s not even counting the 125 Weirdlings strips (that’s another 42 comic pages!)That’s the equivalent of almost 6 – 20 page comics this year! Holy productive year Batman!!

Ok, so since last Wednesday, I have done the following:
Pencilled and inked TPB #2 Cover and colored it
Pencilled, inked and colored 4 Weirdlings strips
Pencilled and inked Fridays Weirdlings over again , because the first one sucks
Pencilled and inked 6 “Radon Farting Bastard Aliens from Hell” pages
Prepped two issues worth of comic pages for print and the internet
Updated the Phineus Strumhaus website

I have been extremely prolific the pas two days at work. (God I love being able to draw as I work!)
I finished 4 Weirdlings strips and two pages of the now increasingly inaccurately named 24 hour comic.
I have a little time off of Weirdlings ,thanks to the guest artists filling in, after I color these (20 days). I plan to get The TPB # 2 cover done and the 24 hour comic as well. I need to come up with a name for the story so I can quit calling it 24 hr. I am done with 15 pages pencilled , inked and lettered.

There are a couple comic here to look at. I like the “color by accent” style, it’s very effective!

Despite my unfortunate setback, earlier this week( IE being crushed under a pile of stuff) and going to the hospital. Despite being sore as hell, I managed to get my Weirdlings strips done on time and I completed two Sara: One Shot pages.
Today , alone, I managed to finish the inks on Sara page # 6 and pencils and inks on page #7, as well as coloring Weirdlings # 37, which you can read at http://www.weirdlings.com .
This weekend I hope to get next weeks strips completed.
Maybe I should get squished more often… Nah.

Hello all,
Here is a picture of me at the Pittsburgh Comicon, last weekend. The photo was taken by my good friend and partner in crime, Brian Babyok.
As of May 1st, I will be updating every day, Monday thru Friday. M,W,F will be links to new Weirdlings strips (scripted by the afformentioned Brian Babyok) and Tuesday and Thurday will be new Comicbook pages, Phineus and otherwise! This means I will have to keep up with the drawing! I am really excited about the new direction of my work and hope you’ll all check back and watch the process!

I have been experimenting with putting Backgrounds in digitally using photo shop, here is a sample.
The first round of classes is almost over. I have been teaching at Michaels in North Fayette, PA. The classes have gone really well and are great fun.
During April, I will again tech from 11 am til 1pm on every Saturday but the Comicon
April 21-23). I also have added a class at the Waterworks Michaels, on Sundays from 2 -4PM, exept the con Weekend. I f anyone knows anybody interested, have them email me and I’ll get them the info!!
This past week, mostly during the weekend, I was able to complete 6 more pages pencilled and inked, 1 page penciled and the cover penciled and inked. I just have a page to ink and 4 more penciled and inked till It’s ready for the lettering!

I have been atempting to get Phineus #4 done, I got two pages pencilled and inked over the last two nights, I’m down to 10 more pages to draw. I should have it by show time!! What’s everyone else working on for the Pgh Comicon?
This is one of the guys I used to look to when I started doing the whole comics publishing thing. I used to see him and his pals twice yearly at Motorcity Con. I just stumbled upon his site and he’s still wHACKING AWAY AT IT! CHECK HIM OUT , GOOD STUFF!!
