Phineus Review

Mav and the nice folks over at Cosmic Hellcats did a very nice review of Phineus over at their site. Mav is a fellow Webcomicplanet Collective member and a fellow Pittsburgher so head on over and read the review and some of his comics as well!

Rick the Stick comic plug

Mirrored from Phinmagic.com.

Rick the Stick is the story of a stickman amongst non-stickmen. Rick is a direct descendant of the original stickman and is rich from royalties paid by anyone drawing a stick figure!(that’s why I don’t draw stick figures!)

This is a silly webcomic in the best sense of the word and this guy is prolific! He updates 5 days a week, so there’s plenty of archive to read through!

Ken Drab has a great sense of humor and a great sense of community, with lots of insites and comments nearly every day (I need to do more of that). Ken is also a member of our Webcomic Planet collective and has posted this great article as well.

Head on over, read his stuff and enjoy the world of Rick the Stick!

Gotta love these guys!

That’s a big Twinkie!

My daughters and I can’t wait to get this for the Wii! We are huge fans of Ghostbusters, the movies, the Real Ghost Busters cartoons and even the Extreme Ghostbusters. Initially when I heard this was coming out I saw it wasn’t avaiable on PS2 or Wii, so I was bummed, but they released a Wii version and it’s even cool for the kids (E10 instead of T)! Yaay!

With all this in mind, I think Ghost busters is the most quotable movie on Earth. I ask all of you, what’s your favorite GB quote?

Ok, go!

Gotta love you some They Might Be Giants! I’d always said that if I had any musical ability I’d be in a punk band, but , realistically, I’d be in a band like TMBG. Face it, I’m a geek, they’re blissfully geeks. This is what I’d do.

Long live TMBG!

Mutant Chronicles

Mirrored from Phinmagic.com.

This was surprisingly good. Based on a tabletop war game/RPG. Great cast, cool effects.Mix steam punk with demonic possession in futuristic trench warfare and you have this. Now if they could only make a Warhammer 40,000 movie!

Even Weirder

Zed Reckoning Comic Plug

Mirrored from Phinmagic.com.

shapeimage_1m_f554131545d0f3710dd753f55ecbc3feI’ve been reading this comic for a while, and now it’s part of our very own Rampage Network, so Cool! I describe it as A Rockabilly Zombie Apocalypse shown on Viewmaster.

The site describes it as; “It’s about a Zombie named Zed, who has his soul tucked away in a suitcase.   Zed’s goal is simple;  he’s trying to find a way to reunite his soul with his body.  He is determined to become whole again.

However, they are not the only ones interested in Zed’s soul.

Zed is being hunted by an ancient race of spider-like beings and their legion of zombies. Under the orders of the necromancer, Baron Astor, they are to bring Zed’s soul back to Astor so he can finalize his heinous plot, the eradication of his enemies souls with an ancient device known as the soul scorcher.

The story and art are deftly done by Matt Munn, you can read it at http://www.zombiegrotto.com/.

Here are a couple strips I did a while ago for a jam webcomic about weird pro-wrestling!

One of my comic heroes, Les McClain is one of the originators and artists on this , so I headed over to try my hand! There’s some weird and wonderful stuff over here so check it out!

Con wrap-up!

Mirrored from Phinmagic.com.

c111-con-tableAll in all, a great show. It was one of my best Sundays, ever! This is  a shot of Mike Wood and my table, thes show was in an ol Steve and Barry’s, so we had all kinds of extra fixtures to play with, MIke and I dragged over this monster and set up. Everyone said we had the best layout at the show!

I sat with Mike, we were next to Chris Yabar from the Simpsons, we want to do a comic about Zombie Yambar, called Zombar!! We saw Scott Hedlund and Dan Greenwald, DJ Coffman and his lovely wife were also in attendance! There were crazy kids whacking away at each other with foam weapons! Don Pedicini was also there! Lots of fun! I also got to see some old friends(Jim and Kevin).

Mike Wood hit me up to do another chapter for the Pocket Pulp Project,so after Mondays Creephunter, I’ll be working on the pages for Chapter 6 of that, then back to Creephunter. I am also working on the story for the next Phineus story.

Goodbye, Goodbye

You don’t get much better than Oingo Boing! Great stuff and not really surprising that Danny Elfman went on to do so many soudtracks solo, these guys were all over 80’s movie sountracks!

Love it!!

Zomben

212a78337da5097de7a7ada769fcae7b

This is the clever and terribly well-drawn story of a slacker cartoonist, granted the “Gift” of turning into a zombie by the god of death, Anubis. He uses his new -found powers to fight evil and take on bad guys! It’s brilliantly illustrated by Ben Steeves and is a hell of a lot of fun! Check it out! Zomben is a part of the Rampage Network, as is Phineus! I’ll be doing plugs for the many awesome comics that Rampage has to offer, probably on Thurdays!

Ashtray3

a3ad_468x60

As a member of the Collective over at WebComic Planet, I’ll be doing plugs for fellow Collective Members, probably on Tuesdays. First up is the gorgously drawn and vaguely bizarre story of Ashtray3. It’s the story of a human girl, trapped in a world of strange creatures who are allegic to water! Describing this comic really does no justice, so head on over to Ahtray3 and show some love!!

Rock and Rule

Inside Pittsburgh’s Century III Mall in West Mifflin, PA

Since the Pittsburgh Comicon ( http://www.pittsburghcomicon.com ) has been pushed back to Sept. 11-13th this year, New Dimension Comics has decided to fill your Spring yearn for comic book conventions with a 1-day extravaganza!

Don’t foget I’ll be in attendance with loads of STUFF! Come on down and harass me, or better yet , buy some stuff!!

Springtime Honey-do list of DOOM!!

Mirrored from Phinmagic.com.

Wow, I have been on vacation and busy as heck! We’ve opened the pool, installed lights, yard work, fixed the dryer, sorted through seven years of toys 1/3 to keep. 1/3 to donate and 1/3 to throw away, all this and more!

I have been remiss in my comicy duties, but I’ll have a new page up tomorrow and new stuff all next week.

Now, back to work, the small one’s new bedroom is the old playroom, and the bed’s not going to move itself!

Bitchin’ in the Kitchen

This is a song from the little known Rocky Horror sequel, Shock Treatment. I based the look of Rotwang on Richard O’Brien’s character in this. And , yes, that’s Rick Mayall from The Young One’s as the orderly!
