Phineus 2036

So, I have been toying with this idea for a while, Phineus in the future. I just found out about an open competition for Dark Horse that they may publish your book. I intend on submitting the first 4 Phin issues as well as maybe Sara, and of course Phineus 2036.

I will need to design characters and a whole world for this , so I am going to take off some time from Sara, and work on this. I will update as I do sketches and as I finish pages (maybe in color). I may have new Sara in between as well.

So, hang in there with me as you watch me give birth to a new Comic!

So, Sara did’nt have a whole lot, aside from smart assedness, to do this issue so I had to have her shoot something, however it did no good! Oh well she’s got her own story in Sara: One Shot (new one on Thursday).

Sara: One Shot # 10

Hola!

I am about half way through pencilling Sara # 11, lotsa archetecture in this story,lots to draw.
Page # 10 was fun, the more characters to draw over and over , the more challenging. Me and My wife, Chrissie and daughters Maddie and Emmy are in the tour group, the family with the two little girls.

I have to take a few days off Sara to do Weirdlings and another Wrestling Theatre strip, I’ll have the # 11 page next week for you!

I am now 1/4 th the way through thi story! Woo Hoo!

Phineus Online

Hello, all. I just finished all of this weeks Weirdlings strips. I am very happy with them. This fives me a couple of days to get caught up on the Sara: One Shot. I’ll get that to y’all later this week.
The new Phineus story I am going to do, I may do as a two teir strip, in color one or twice a week. Afetr all is done two strips together will make one comic book page.I’ll have to think about wether I can pull off Weirdlingns and Phineus, both in color at the same time… We’ll see.

I’ve always wanted to do a Norse mythology children’s book. I did a bunch of studies a while back. I may think of revisiting this idea in the future.

There is a new weirdlings up today, I’m really digging the colors, I’ve found a way that not only looks better than my old way, it’s faster! Yay!

Here was one of the studies that I did for “The Glamour”, the prequel to my Phineus series, by Brian Babyok, Myself and Marshall Dillon on letters. We have a directors cut coming out this fall with my origianl art inked by Xeric award winner Wayne Wise. With a new cover by Byron Winton!

Hello, all!

Just thought I’d give you all a heads up on what’s up this week.
I have been working on this weeks Weirdlings comics, good stuff and an interesting new story line.

I also have been working on prepping all my comics for print, look for the online store for Strumhaus stuff this fall!

This is a drawing of my space marine commander , Magnus Ver Magnussen, for my Chapter “The Imperial Frogz”.

I should have all this and next weeks Weirdlings strips done this week, and I hope to sneek in a Sara page to boot. I will also be doing anotherWrestling Theatre strip coming up this week as well!

Weirdlings

HEllo, all. We will have a new strip up today at http://www.weirdlings.com , so check it out.

SO this week I skipped my Sara page this week, since I had done two last week. Not to be lazy, but to work on Weirdlings stuff. Tonight I drew Mondays strip. It may not seem like alot, but any new “set” I do a very detailed picture of it , color it and use it to be dropped in behind my characters on sunbsequent strips. Monday we introduce new characters and a whole new story arc that should be really cool.

starting with mondays strip I am going to be trying to kick it up a notch with the colors, trying to set mood with them like those in the old “Crimson” comics. We’ll see how that goes.

Here’s the new page, “Fior” is Gaelic for “Beware”.

I haven’t worked on my Sara page this week, yet. Tonight I drew two pages of bonus material for our Volume 1 Weirdlings compilation, due out this fall.

I also worked on character studies for a new Weirdlings story arc. You’ll meet these characters next week.

I am really exited in the direction that both the strip and my work is going. You are welcome to tag along for the ride!

The Djinn

I thought on my off days I’d share with you other artwork I’d done, color stuff you guys may not have seen in color, stuff from my sketchbooks and the like. Today is one of my more painterly attempts, called the Djinn, I did this in chalk pastels 24 x 36. It’s kinda fun. I haven’t used this medium in a while, I should play with them some more.
