Author: phinmagic
Phineus : Magician for Hire is the brainchild of creator Barry Linck. Phineus was created in 1987, of then a high school senior after reading too much of Matt Wagner's "Mage", too much Dungeon's and Dragon's and watching too much of John Carpenter's "Big trouble in LittleChina". Over the interviening years Phineus changed from angellic savior, to reluctant hero, to art student who finds he is a mage, until, in 1991, for a comic class at Edinboro University, he became part of a Husband and Wife paranormal investigations team, with Phineus' sidekick and wife Sara. Barry produced and self published from 1993 to the present 33 comics with our erstwhile heroes, garnering a small but rabid fan following.
Drunk Duck Radio
The Drunk Duck Podcast has a shout out to Phineus in the form of an awesome Theme song for Phinues by the uber talented Gunwallace! My song is right at the 1:00:00 mark, but why not listen to all the cool songs?
Big thanks to Drunk Duck for the nod, even bigger thanks to Gunwallace for the song!

New Format Phineus Mirror
I have a new mirror for Phineus set up. It uses slightly different software and a different kind of organization. Head over and look around and let me know what you think. This doesn’t replace the regular site, but it’s an option. https://phinmagicdotnet.wordpress.com/
RPG Hang out?
How would you guys feel about an online role playing experience on Google + with me GMing? It’d be a great intro to the rules for the Phineus RPG and a lot of fun!
I am totally stealing this idea from Adam Black, he’s just done this with his fans with his Locus RPG and I’m jealous!
Comment and let me know what you guys think!
Thanks,
Barry
Here’s the Deal…
I am diligently working away on Phineus pages. I am attempting to get a buffer up. Trying to get at least an issue ahead of what’s posted on the sites.
You, good Patrons of Patreon, will get to see all the Phineus pages as soon as I get them done.
In addition, as I get caught up with this venture, I will get back to Phineus: Teen Wizard, for all patrons to read.
I will also be getting back to bonus storues, that will only be available in trade paperbacks, PDFs for sale and to 2nd level patrons, as I finish them. I have to Hollow Earth related bonus stories in the hopper (my brain). I just need to get the buffer ramped up.
I am doing all this to make it worth your while to support me every month.
I appreciate all your support, and if there’s anything else you’d like to see, let me know!
Loot Bag
I’ve added a new reward! A monthly bag (or box) of swag for just $25 a month. The exact contents will vary from month to month, based upon what I can pull together.
You’ll get a variety of printed comics, ashcans, sketchcards, original art, sketchbook pages, toys, trading cards, gaming supplies, baked goods, you name it.
I will post, once a month what will be in this month’s Loot Bag.

Phineus 25th Anniversary
So, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the first issue of Phineus. 66+ issues in the same continuity and story.
The first issue was created for a comic and drawing class in my senior year at Edinboro University in 1991 . I had been fiddling with the character, Phineus, since high school. Phineus has his 30th birthday, next year, himself.
I am proud of and addicted to this character and this world. I plan on many more years of the comic.
I will be celebrating the anniversary all year, by finishing up Hollow Earth in the next months, posting a true epic fan comic (Werewolf Conundrum by Noeland Collins – posting, now at Patreon) & doing a 25th Anniversary commemorative comic in the fall (which was when the first issue was created).
As always, I gladly accept fan art and/or fan fiction… hint* hint*.
So, keep coming back, check out all the great stuff I am creating. You can also check out my Patreon, toss me a couple bucks and gain access to all the bonus stuff over there.

Phineus: The Return of Joe Magarac #1 by Bob DelBane
My good friend and former room mate, Bob Delbane is writing a Phineus story. We have part one, but I won’t get around to drawing it until I have free time and Bob gets me the other two parts. So, in the mean time, I present the super fun script he gave me.

Specialist Crossover Art … COLOR
The full COLOR!
Specialists Secret Santa Art!
This is guest crossover art for the excellent “The Specialists” webcomic by Shawn Gustafson and Al Fukalek. These guys are fellow members of the Collective of Heroes group I belong to.
As their comic takes place in the 40’s during WW2, I figured I’d have them crossover with Kris Kringle, a regular in my comic, as you well know.
Secret Santa Crossover with Hero Business
Here’s the awesome crossover/guest art for the Collective of Heroes 2105 secret Santa art swap.
It’s done by Bill Walko from Hero Business. Well done, sir! So great! Go check out his most nifty comic!
If you want to see all the great crossover guest art head over to the COH Secret Santa page!
The Krampus!
This is my version of the Krampus! Expect a story featuring him, next year!

Ophelia-Stein
Here’s an art trade I did as part of the Collective of Heroes for Halloween. We are doing Halloween themed versions of other member’s characters.
This is Ophelia, from Dan Butcher’s “Vanguard”. I Frankensteined her, based on her fate in the comic.
Check his comic out, it’s pretty great! http://vanguardcomic.com/
Updates
My life with working two jobs (and specifically the one job is kicking my ass right now), I’m gonna have to change my update schedule a bit for a little while.
I’ll be doing two pages a week for a while and the Teen Wizard stuff up on Patreon until I can buffer up again.
I may have another page up, later this week, then Tuesday and Thursday updates for a while after that.
Sorry to let you guys down, but life sometimes gets in the way.

I’m not slacking, I swear…
Sorry, I haven’t had more art, recently. Been very, very busy with both my jobs and with my kids activities.
I will get back into the swing, eventually, just please bear with me.
