Phineus : Magician for Hire is the brainchild of creator Barry Linck. Phineus was created in 1987, of then a high school senior after reading too much of Matt Wagner's "Mage", too much Dungeon's and Dragon's and watching too much of John Carpenter's "Big trouble in LittleChina". Over the interviening years Phineus changed from angellic savior, to reluctant hero, to art student who finds he is a mage, until, in 1991, for a comic class at Edinboro University, he became part of a Husband and Wife paranormal investigations team, with Phineus' sidekick and wife Sara. Barry produced and self published from 1993 to the present 33 comics with our erstwhile heroes, garnering a small but rabid fan following.

We’re back! With a plan. I’ve scripted out the rest, so delays should be a minimum.
Script accomplished!
So, I got a lazy for a long while and was winging it with my stories. Then, I get stuck, because I don’t know where to go and I wallow.
No. More.
I’m finished up the script in “Barcrawl”. “Boy Wizards” is next. I have Maynard and Grimm script done. Gonna get stuff DONE. I’m determined to kick all the ass in the coming year!
The comics I will be working to finish over the next weeks will be:

Promptober is complete!
I got them all done, and a bit early! Here were the prompts…
These were done as a part of DJ Coffman’s Draw or Die Club’s Promptober challenge. I got a late start due to hand issues, but worked ahead and got finished up a little early! It was great fun0 and loosened up my hand and thumb to draw! I’m currently back at comic pages and hope to have a new one up next week!

At the half way point of the month, here are all the daily cards I have done so far. I’ve never completed one of the challenges, before. As you can see I have more that 16 done. This has been fun and getting me ready for my con on the 29th, and ready for more pages.

I’m conditioning the drawing thumb by doing sketch cards for Draw or Die’s Promptober. They’re fun, they’re getting me ready for the con in 2 weeks and it’s loosening up my hand. Sorry for the lack of pages.
The Struggle is Real
I’m struggling, guys. My anxiety and depression are getting the best of me. Add to that the hand pain, and I am struggling. I feel very lost right now. I’ll be back as soon as I feel like what I’m doing matters at all.

Finally! Sorry about the delay. Been a rough couple of weeks!
Main Site Fixed!
After a long, long week of my main site issues, my host escalated the problem and got it all fixed up. They ended up changing the url and screwing up my image links. All fixed, now.
Because of all this, i spent way too much time fixing what i could on this main site, but also preparing my backup WordPress site, just in case they couldn’t fix it.
Now, with that all out of the way, i can get back to drawing! Sorry for the delay!

Drunk Duck and delays
So, I’ve had a mirror over at Drunk Duck since 2006, left with the Platinum Studios/Wevolt debacle back in the early ’10s andgot set back up, there a couple years back, but have largely ignored it. but, no more!
DD has a great community, great comics and a nice interface, so I’ve decided to be way more engaged over there, going forward. That said, I spent a lot of time last week tweaking my comics there, making them look awesome, uploading pages and setting up new comics over there, so I didn’t get a lot of time to draw. No Magician for Hire page, today.
I should have a new page up later this week, so look out for it!

The Plan…
For now, at least.
I’m back on Magician for Hire, I’ve worked out my plot problems, this will be the weekly comic.
A new Bonus comuc is coming called, “The Ghost of Alistaire Crowley”. Fun in Loch Ness. This will be weekly, for the most part, for Patreons.
I will continue, a couple times a month with the end of Maynard & Grimm, until it’s done. These will post early on Patreon, as usual, and in my blog on the main site. It will, retroactively be added to the comics, as I finish them.
Hope it’s not all too confusing. Trying to keep all the balls in the air.
