Star Wars Sketch Card Practice

I’m working on some practice drawings for Star Wars, I’d love to do theses for a living!

What do you guys think?

  1. Good start
    Hey Barry,
Nice to see you trying new stuff.
I think what you have here is a quick sketch but not a sketch card.
Compare your Kitfisto with Grant Gould’s (Star Wars Card Artist) and you can see that even his marker work is very tight and his layout work is dynamic. Think about the character and try and capture something that no one else has.

  3. Lookin good so far, you might want to try some different poses, full body shots. Think of each card like a comic cover. Did you say everything you can about the character? The audience thinks about these things when considering a buy.
